Cancellations due to Natural Disaster in Iceland

Sri Lankan airlines:


As you maybe aware SriLankan Airlines has cancelled all flights to Europe due to the closure of European air space as a result of the cloud of volcanic ash which is spreading over the area.

Please be advised that the decision to operate flights to Europe from 17th April onwards would depend on the opening of the airports to which we operate. Therefore please ask your staff / passengers to contact the SriLankan Airlines office from 8.00 pm onwards today (16th April) on 019733 5500 for updated information on the situation and not to leave for the airport to catch any of the European flights before contacting us. Passengers whose contact numbers are in the system would be contacted by our team.

SriLankan Airlines will rebook/reroute on seat available basis at the respective stations on the confirmed bookings. SriLankan Airlines would not be providing HOTAC for any of the disrupted passengers.

MALAYSIA AIRLINES FLIGHTS TO UK & EUROPE

Due to airport closures across the UK and Europe as a result of volcanic ash from Iceland, Malaysia Airlines flights have been disrupted.

The following flights originally scheduled to depart on 15 April and 16 April will be re-scheduled to 17 April and 18 April respectively:

Re-scheduling of 15 April flights to 17 April 2010
Kuala Lumpur - Paris (MH20) scheduled to depart 11.35pm
Kuala Lumpur-London (MH2) scheduled to depart 11.40pm
Kuala Lumpur - Amsterdam (MH16) scheduled to depart 11.55pm

Re-scheduling of 16 April flights to 18 April 2010
Kuala Lumpur - London (MH4) scheduled to depart 10.05am
Kuala Lumpur- London (MH1) scheduled to depart 10.00pm

Those booked on affected flights are advised to watch out for updates on www.malaysiaairlines.com or call the MAS Call Center 1300-88-3000 (within Malaysia) or 603-7843 3000 (outside Malaysia) before proceeding to the airport. Customers who have mobile phones are encouraged to register their numbers with Malaysia Airlines for ease of notification via SMS.

There will be a waiver on penalty fee for customers holding special fare tickets with restrictive terms and conditions until 30 April 2010. For any subsequent booking changes, a penalty fee will be incurred. Refunds are not applicable.

Customers holding tickets which allow for change of travel dates may do so without penalty fee. Refunds are allowed and subject to a refund administrative fee.

Malaysia Airlines thanks all passengers for their patience during the re-scheduling of these flights and would like to emphasize that the safety of passengers and crew is of paramount importance.
